Looking for the best desserts in San Antonio, Texas? This city is full of yummy places that will satisfy your sweet tooth craving. During my visit last week, I found everything from adorable bakeries in trendy neighborhoods to creamy cool treats to enjoy on a hot summer day. The choices here are plenty and you will find something good in all parts of the city. Check out my favorite spots in San Antonio.
Bird Bakery
My favorite San Antonio dessert spot is Bird Bakery. This is such a cozy place. Every detail in the decor is adorable. I really love the walls in this place. The service is excellent as well. The owner even went around from table to table to check on customers and offer them refills and a warm greeting. During my visit I had the chocolate strawberry and the blue bird vanilla. The cake practically melted in my mouth and had a delicious flavor. I wish that I lived closer to this place because I’d definitely visit all the time. (smile)
Bird Bakery also has a breakfast and lunch menu. The bakery has a variety of cakes, pies, cookies, and cupcakes. They also have an area inside for private parties.

The Art of Donut and Maybelle’s Donuts
The best of San Antonio desserts continues with two tasty donut shops – The Art of Donut and Maybelle’s Donuts. Both offer handmade selections that are both fresh and tasty. The coffee is good too!
The Art of Donut is located 3428 N. St.Mary’s. They have very distinctive flavors that are a true favorite in the city. The owners started out with a food truck and have now expanded to a brick and mortar shop. I really enjoyed the blueberry and raspberry. Yum!
Maybelle’s is located at the Historic Pearl in San Antonio. They can be found at 312 Pearl Parkway. This donut shop was started by the owners of another local eatery that I will feature here soon. Be sure to try the deep fried cinnamon roll and the Homer Simpson donut.
Kuma
If you are looking for a unique dessert place then Kuma is your place. You can find them at 6565 Babcock Road. They are a colorful ice cream shop serving Hong Kong egg waffles filled with flavorful scoops and toppings. They add such things as mochi, a pocky, a wafer, and delicious drizzles. The staff is very friendly and the service is awesome.
